As a document management specialist based in South Wales with over 12 years experience in the industry we have managed many large format-scanning projects. Our experience tells us these jobs are unique and can range from simple scanning to intricate customer requested amendments coupled with the indexing of various sizes and formats.
Whether its drawings, plans or maps we have the hi-tech sophisticated technology and a highly experienced bureau that can deal with whatever you require.
Virtually any output can be provided including TIFF, PDF or Jpeg be it in colour, greyscale or black & white.
We not only cater for sizes up to A0 but we also help customers in South Wales with old imperial sizes including double elephant – all of which can be scanned to high resolution.
Many large formatting scanning projects we have undertaken have required some form of indexing to help easily locate documents. We work closely with you to ensure your specification is met and index the scanned documents to suit your business; regardless of whether its by drawing number, size, revision, and/or sheet number.
Due to the nature of this work specialist requirements need to be met.
We always aim to help customers find specific solutions to their problems.
When listening to our customers we found that expensive software was prohibiting them from storing some of their documents in a simple cost effective manner. As a result we have developed a database solution utilising Microsoft XL, which includes hyperlinks to the images.
Thus providing our customers with a simple cost effective drawing registry.
Case Study One
We were contacted by an Architectural practice to convert all maps relating to one of the largest estates in South Wales.
Like many old site drawings they were ripped and suffered from their fair share of wear and tear. Several hundred were still bound in their original casing and required specialist book scanning skills.
The drawings ranged from A4 to various imperial sizes with many having coloured aspects that were vital including boundary areas in red marker. Such attention to detail and experience of working on such projects ensured we provided the output the customer needed.
Some were on paper, some on linen and some on polyester material all adding to the intricacy of the task so we handled them with great care including lint free gloves in some cases.
All were successfully digitised and returned with indexed with a unique Estate Drawing Number in PDF format.
No matter how complex your large formatting scanning requirements we’ll find a solution for you.
Case Study Two
Every year our client needs all that years’ new drawings and related documents to be digitised.
However this particular year they had inherited a vast amount of data from a third party that they had acquired and requested that we qualify all this information and merge it with their current registry system.
We took their electronic system and related images and validated it before progressing any further. Once the anomalies had been corrected we took on the second phase; scanning all paper data and converting all microfilm & fiche data.
We indexed the data in great depth before uploading it all into an Excel database as requested. In addition we created a hyper link to the relevant PDF images thus delivering a dynamic, easy to use image retrieval system with no massive outlay or expensive software.
Although some projects are intricate and complex we aim to find an ideal cost effective solution for you.
Thanks for all your work. You give me complete confidence that my customer information is treated with care and destroyed with the utmost confidentiality. ThanksD. Jeavons
